Tarung tribe meets

Tarung Tribe Union (TTU) today organized a public meeting with the aim to save Tarung tribe from its extinction at Imphal Movie, Thangal Bazar.
Spokesperson, TTU, L. More said that according to the report given by UNESCO the number of people who speak Tarung language has been reduced to 900 and there is a fear of its extinction. Just like the state animal Sangai, there is also a need to save Tarung religion from its extinction in the state, added L. More.
The meeting was participated by Retd. Professor, PC Thoudam, HOP, department of Linguistic, MU, and Chairman, TRAU Culture, L. Saratchandra.
