Tamenglong wore a deserted look due to 48-hour bandh

Imphal, May 7: The 48-hours bandh called by Truck Drivers Association, Tamenglong has affected the normalcy in Tamenglong district and along the National Highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam).
Owing to the bandh, which came into effect from midnight of May 6, transport services at the district head quarters were suspended, while commercial establishment remain shut. Government and private offices were seen shut down today.
Endorsing the bandh Joint Forum of Transport Welfare Association, Tamenglong district has also boycotted government offices in the district since April 28.
A member of the Joint Forum has expressed their support to the demand of Truck Drivers Association; and said that it would extend all possible help to the Truck Drivers Association in their future course of actions.
