Suspected thief died in mob action

Imphal, May 17: A person suspected to have been indulging in burglary activities at Thangmeiband Yumnam leikai area was caught by the locals at 3.30 pm today morning. He was beaten by the locals on charge of attempting to commit burglary at a house belong to one Irengbam Joybi Singh (61) s/o Late Irengbam Ango of the locality.
Report said that the person was first caught by Irengbam Joybi Singh and later handed over to members of Thangmeiband Improvement Club (TIC), Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai.
The person was reportedly assaulted by the club member and later evacuated to RIMS hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
Police had filed a case  and deposited the dead body at JNIMS morgue.

It is a highly condemnable act for the club members. You have the right for custody before handling over to police but do't have right to be beaten up. Try to avoid such immature act for good.
