Suspected Monkeypox case in Jiribam confirmed negative

IT News
Imphal, Sept 2:

The recent scare over a suspected Monkeypox case in Jiribam district has been confirmed to be a false alarm. Samples sent for testing at the State Level VRDL, Department of Microbiology, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, have confirmed that the case is not Monkeypox.
It may mention that last week, a viral message claiming the detection of Monkeypox in Jiribam sparked widespread panic across the state. The message, which quickly circulated on social media, included photos of children with skin infections, heightening fears among the public. However, initial examinations had suggested that these infections were more likely due to chickenpox or other viral rashes, rather than Monkeypox.
