Suspected Kuki militants attack Meitei village while Manipur Governor was visiting relief camp at Churachandpur

Imphal, June 12:

Suspected armed Kuki militants today fired rounds of gunshot towards Meitei village at Govindapur in Bishnupur district when the governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey was visiting the relief camp at Churachandpur and Moirang area.
Report reaching here said that the Governor of Manipur today went to Churanchandpur to take stock of the victims of the violence staying at the relief camps at Churachandpur. Later governor Anusuiya Uike was supposed to visit the relief camps opened at Moirang.
After visiting the relief camp at Churachandpur Governor Anusuiya Uike return back to visit other relief camps open at Tiddim Road. However, while returning heavy gunshots were reported at Govindapur in Bishnupur district. Report said that suspected armed Kuki militants attacked the Meitei village at Govindapur. The police posted at the village also retaliated.
