Sumi Hoho appeals RN. Ravi to bring NSCN-K on board

Imphal, Oct 24: Sumi Hoho, the apex body of the Sumi community of Nagaland, has appealed to Centre’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, R N Ravi, to take measures at his disposal to bring the NSCN (K) on board.
RN Ravi came yesterday at Nagaland and met the six Naga Political groups at Dimapur yesterday. The center interlucator for the peace talk with the NSCN-IM is walking out for a solution to the problems of the Naga Issues.
A source said that the center is working out for a solution by December this year as election for the Nagaland state Assembly is scheduled on March next year.
 In a representation addressed to interlocutor, Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho said that while the talks seemed to be heading in the right direction, leaving out any Naga National Political Group out of the ambit of the talks could become partial success,
which could be even disastrous for the Nagas. Further, pointing out that the term of current Nagaland Legislative Assembly was nearing completion, the Hoho said while the people were earnestly anticipating permanent solution, imposing election at this juncture could lead to differences of opinion and could even affect the ongoing talks.
Therefore, the Hoho opined that the forthcoming general election be deferred so that smooth transition to any alternative arrangement could take place.
