Students vandalise college property for delay in arrival of Joint Director

Students of DM College vandalised college engineering cell, parked cars and admin room for delay in arrival of the Joint Director, Education (U) and Commissioner to construct the college road this morning. The Joint Director arrived 45 minutes after the scheduled time. The incident happened at around 11.40 am at the college campus wherein the enraged students destroyed windshield of three cars, damaged the engineering cell’s computer room and the admin room.
Loutombam Sanatomba, General Secretary said to media that the Joint Director and Commissioner had earlier assured the students in a meeting which was held on Thursday that they would arrive at 11.00 am and start the construction. As they didn’t arrive till 11.00 am the students took out the fury in damaging properties of the college and Sanatomba apologised for their aggravation.
Later in the noon, some pebbles were spread on the college road. Sanatomba further said that the Joint Director assured to finish repairing the road within 45 days. He said that the agitation will be suspended for the given time period and appealed to all the college students to attend classes from tomorrow. If the repairing doesn’t get completed in 45 days the students will resume agitation in various forms, said Sanatomba.
