Students of Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary Schools today staged sit-in protests at the front of their School condemning the killing of Mayengbam Ricky Meetei (17) of Kwakta Turel Mapal, Ward No. 9 of Kwakta Municipal Council.
Ricky, a student of the school, was reportedly killed by suspected Kuki Militants in front of Kwakta Sericulture Complex while riding his two-wheelers on the way to a Relief Camp where his mother is staying. Ricky was reportedly hit by a bullet.
Students of Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School expressed that they want peace in Manipur and they seek immediate restoration of normalcy in Manipur, the prevailing crisis affected their studies and academic career, in such circumstances how can the state progress when the sole education sector is affected harshly. The students said that they want keen intervention from the authority concerned for an early solution to the crisis and to allow them to study in peace, he also asked how long they will stay in such chaos without no education.
