Students protest against alleged drug seizure link to school name in Kwakta

Imphal, Feb 7:

Bishnupur District’s Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station seized 1.041 kg of brown sugar from an individual near Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai. Following this, a local newspaper report mentioned the name of Anita Standard High School, Kwakta, in connection with the incident. Protesting against this, students of the school staged a demonstration in the Kwakta Bazar area today, demanding that the school’s name be cleared of any allegations.
After marching through Kwakta Bazar carrying placards, the students returned to the school premises, where they continued their protest by forming a human chain along the road.
Vice Principal Sapam Brajamani clarified that the school has always been a place of positive learning, producing responsible students over the years. He strongly objected to the school’s name being mentioned in connection with a drug-related case, stating that such claims are baseless and harmful to the institution’s reputation. He urged the concerned media outlet to verify facts before publishing such reports.
