Students’ front of COCOMI appeals students to join Save Manipur Rally on January 31

The students’ front of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) today appealed to students across the State to participate in the Save Manipur Rally, also known as Manipur Kanba Khongchat, scheduled to be held on January 31.
The appeal was made during a press meet held at the COCOMI office in Imphal, which was attended by leaders of various student bodies affiliated to or supporting the committee. Addressing the media, student leaders said the proposed rally aims to safeguard the territorial integrity, unity and collective future of Manipur at a critical juncture.
They stated that students, as an important and conscious section of society, have a responsibility to raise their voices on issues affecting the State and its people. The rally, they said, would serve as a peaceful and democratic platform to express collective concern over developments perceived as threatening the historical, cultural and territorial interests of Manipur.
The students’ front urged student organisations, educational institutions and individual students to come forward in large numbers and extend their support to the movement. Emphasising unity, the speakers said the rally is not directed against any particular community but is intended to protect Manipur as a whole and ensure a secure future for coming generations.
