Students’ body threatens to burn college which fail to conduct examination

 Students of 11 colleges in Manipur has threaten to burn colleges which had fail to conduct the examination of BA, BSC and B.Com first and fifth semester examination which is scheduled to begin tomorrow. In a press conference held today at the office of DESAM at Keishampat, student representatives of DM College of Commerce, Arts and Science, Imphal College, GP Women College, Manipur College, MB College, Oriental College, Lilong Hoareibi Collge, Modern College and L. Sanoi College said that college authority should conduct the examination by defying the agitation of the All Manipur College Teachers’ Association (AMCTA). AMCTA has called boycott of the said examination against the appointment of regular Principal of three colleges saying that the principal appointed did not fulfil rules and regulations of the UGC. Speaking to media persons General Secretary of DM College of Commerce L Sanatomba said that the appointment of three regular principal by the state government is reasonable. He said that any college are found boycotting the examination then the college will be set ablaze as it no longer serve for the welfare of the people.  He further said anything happen will be the responsibilty of the government.
On the other hand the general secretary said that the decision of the AMCTA is not for the welfare of the student community. He cautioned the teachers’ body not to take up any decision which might harm the students.
