Students’ bodies react to permission for exemption of quarantine to doctors visiting the state

Six students’ bodies – MSF, AMSU, DSAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS today strongly reacted to the granting of permission for exemption of quarantine to seven doctors who are visiting the state for consultative services and treatment of heart patients at Sky Hospital & Research Centre at Imphal.
In a press conference held today, the representative of the students’ body said that quarantine should be made mandatory to the visiting doctors. The students bodies said that if the government allow them to continue their service here in the state of Manipur without quarantine then any consequences arises out of it should be held responsibility by the government.
MSF President, talking on behalf of the students’ bodies said that earlier too, the government had issued an SOP which said that those coming on flight should be allowed for Home Quarantine and that SOP was opposed by the six student body .
“Hadn’t the students’ body reacted and opposed the virus could have been transmitted at local level”, the MSF president said.
The students’ body also condemn the incident at Waikhom Mani Girl College where the inmate on quarantine destroyed the gate.
