Student stage rally to mark Anti Corruption Day

Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) today joined the world community in observing the Anti Corruption Day. The day is being observed after the UN adopted a resolution on October 31 in 2003 to observe Anti Corruption Day on this day. As a part of the observance DESAM organised a rally from Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai till Wahengbam Leikai where they also organised a public meeting in the bed of Nambul River in front of Bheigo Hotel. The rally was flagged off by Former Commissioner of Arts and Culture RK Nimai. Students taking part in the rally carries various placards denouncing corruption. DESAM representatives said that the meeting of the observance was organised in the bed of Nambul river in order to prove that the state of corruption in the state is as dirty as the Nambul river itself.
