Statue of Lamyanba Irawat unveiled in Nandapur, Assam

Imphal, Dec 10:

A statue of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat was unveiled today in Nandapur, Hojai, Assam. The statue was erected by the Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur, in collaboration with the Manipuri Women Literary and Cultural Organisation (MWLCO). The event was attended by former PAWF President Dr. Yaiskul Khwairakpam as the chief guest.
This is the third statue of Lamyanba Irawat installed by PAWF in Assam. The land for the statue in Hojai was donated by Thangjam Irabot of Nandapur. Earlier, PAWF had installed statues of Irawat in Tripura and Lakhipur.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by key figures, including PAWF President Nairoibam Khamba Luwang, Founder Secretary OC Meira, Secretary Rakesh Naorem, PAWF Tripura Branch Advisor Dr. Kshetrimayum Madhabi, and Manipuri Women Literary and Cultural Organisation Founder President Renuka Yumnam. Others present included President Huirongbam Kunjabati, social activist Dr. Yengkhom Bhagyachandra, and Konsam Michael.
During the event, OC Meira and retired teacher and social activist Huirongbam Binodibihari highlighted Lamyanba Irawat’s contributions to society and his enduring legacy.
MWLCO Secretary Asem Subhashini shared words of encouragement at the event, emphasizing the importance of remembering Irawat’s work. PAWF Manipur Secretary Rakesh Naorem also delivered a speech, addressing the gathering on the significance of Irawat’s legacy.
