Imphal, Aug. 14: The state government has announced the names of police personnel to be conferred with medals on Independence Day 2016. President’s Police Medal for distinguished service has been awarded to Adhikarimayum Ghanashyam Sharma, SDPO, Imphal. Six personnel have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious service. They are: 1. Hijam Gyaneshwar Singh- Deputy Commandant, 7th MR Khabeisoi, 2. S Guni Singh-Sub-Inspector, CID (SB), 3. Songlianthnag Vaiphei- Inspector, MPTC Pangei, 4. Lunkhosei Haokip- Havildar, 2nd Bn MR, Imphal, 5. Khundrakpam Devananda Singh- SI, CID(SB), Imphal, 6. A S Masongam Shimray- Inspector, Senapati District. The medals will be handed over during the Independence Day celebration tomorrow.
