Manipur today joined the world in celebrating the International Yoga Day. The main celebration was held at the IMA located at Lamphel organised by Directorate of AYUSH in association with State Health Mission Soceity. Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing, Comissioner Health J Suresh Babu and Director AYUSH Dr. K. Lokendra among others attended as dignitaries. Importance of Yoga was stressed by various speakers on the occasion.
National Cadet Corps (NCC), the premier youth organisation at Manipur State performed yoga to commemorate the First International Yoga Day at 18 venues spread all over Manipur State today.
According to a statement of PRO (DW) Imphal, more then 6500 cadets participated at 18 venues in Manipur State which is being organised to commemorate the day under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter, Imphal and North Eastern Region directorate .
