State Govt. employees to begin cease work strike from July 20

Imphal, July 5: The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) and All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) has threatened to launch cease work strike from July 20, if the government fail to address the charter of demand submitted by the JAC by July 18.
Speaking to a group of media persons the JAC said that they had once more resubmitted the charter of demand to the Chief Minister on July 3.
Earlier the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO hadcarried out a mass casual leave stir a mass casual leave stir from April 27 to 29. The JAC had decided to take on the cease work strike as their demand has not been taken into consideration by the government.
The demands of the JAC include implementation of the modified ACP scheme at par with the Central Government employees, linking of transport allowance with the corresponding basic pay, paying of transport allowance at the rate of DA, providing children education allowance and adoption of the enhanced rate of group insurance scheme (GIS) etc.
