Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today said that the state government is preparing a draft proposal for regulations for legalization of liquors in the state.
Answering to reporters queries while launching the 12 GPS enable Highways Patrol vehicles, Chief Minister N. Biren said that legalization does not means free liquor sales and consumption at anywhere. Regularization will have to follow certain guidelines and the state government is preparing a draft regulation for that.
The Chief Minister further said that it is unfortunate for misinterpreting the legalization of liquors. There will be various prohibitory sections and legalizing liquors does not means that the they will let free hand to both selling and consumption of liquors. Sales of Liquors will be allowed to only at some specific places and people need not have to worry as he himself will strictly look after in the making of the regulation.
“I am a father too and I don’t want to spoil my children”, N. Biren said.
In connection with the various agitations against the government decision,, N. Biren said that he is communicating will all stakeholders and as soon as the draft regulation is prepared he will make it public to discuss about it.
