State Congress urges action against CM N. Biren Singh on corruption charges

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has demanded action against Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on corruption charges.
Talking to reporters at Congress Bhavan today afternoon, General Secretary of the MPCC, P Sharatchandra said that the Chief Minister had openly stated that crores of rupees were spent in the concluded 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election in a public function.
“Chief Minister N. Biren Singh was heard asking MLA Sushindro about how many crores of rupees were spent during his election”, P Saratchandra told media persons.
He said as per the ECI election expenditure cannot cross Rs. 28 lakhs per candidate. And as the Chief Minister Himself had stated that crores of rupees were spent during the election, the DGP of Manipur should talk action against the CM on corruption charge. He further said that if the DGP fails to take action the Congress party will move to the Supreme Court.
“The Congress party will move to Supreme Court as we have proof of large scale of money being spend by the BJP after the Chief Minister himself had stated that in public function”, Sharatchandra said and added that the MPCC will take the matter to the Supreme Court.
