Imphal, Nov 29: The rounding up of two persons by the workers of an intending BJP candidate at Charangpat in Thoubal district for allegedly demanding Rs. 2.5 crore in returns for BJP tickets has been considered a serious matter by both the state BJP leaders and those in the center.
One among the person who happened to be a close relative of former BJP candidate Oinam Indira has been served explanations called by the state BJP president Bhabananda over the matter.
However, source with the Imphal Times said that Oinam Indira, the lady who had contested the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh in last Assembly election at Thoubal Assembly Constituency had denied to accept the explanation call letter two times. The source further added, two state BJP functionary went to the residence of Oinam Indira however the two returned back empty handed as Indira refuse to go along with them. Later day before yesterday, another explanation call letter has been sent to her through registered speed post. That too no family members had accepted to receive the letter.
Non acceptance of the explanation call letter had angered some of the BJP functionaries and the president is stated to been felt humiliation. However, as of now what action will be proceeded to the lady who challenge the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi as the lone lady BJP candidate at Thoubal Assembly Constituency.
