Special Development Fund (SDF) was created out of the fund available under State Plan by setting aside a small provision primarily to meet the urgent and unavoidable requirement of fund during the course of year. This was stated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh while answering a question to BJP MLA Joykishan during question hour in today’s Assembly Session.
The Chief Minister further said that fund under SDF are normally utilized for meeting the state matching share for various CSS/NEC/NLCPR, completion of ongoing works, etc. The chief minister added that the funds are allocated to the department concerned for the specific works/purpose which was subsequently normalized in the preparation of revise estimate/outlays. depending upon the requirement of fund under plan for various department the quantum of fund for SDF are decided, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh added.
