Speaker lauds social worker and record holder Khoisnam Tokyo Meetei

In recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service and international achievements, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, felicitated Khoisnam Tokyo Meetei, a government employee whose dedication to helping the underprivileged has earned him both national and international recognition.

Tokyo Meetei, the sixth son of late Khoisnam Koba, a former hawker, was recently entered into the European Record Book for receiving the Inspiring Human Award Record. He is currently serving as Assistant-cum-Data Entry Operator with the Juvenile Justice Board under the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur.

Despite his modest background, Tokyo Meetei has devoted a significant part of his life to social service. Since 2016, he has been regularly contributing a portion of his salary to support HIV-affected individuals, widows, persons with disabilities and elderly citizens through monthly assistance. He has also been donating Rs. 5,000 annually to the All Manipur Hawker Association as a tribute to the struggles of the hawker community from which he emerged.

His commitment to uplifting vulnerable sections of society has won widespread appreciation and serves as an inspiring example of public service beyond official duties. Besides becoming the first person from Northeast India to secure a place in an international book of records, he has also earned several national and international accolades for his humanitarian work.
