Imphal, Oct 1:
The armed group Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) observed its foundation day today at its headquarters, CHQ, Bn. HQ, Tactical HQ, and all mobile units. The main event was held at its Headquarters, presided over by its Chairman. At the CHQ, the Secretary of Military Affairs, Colonel Chingyang, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the People’s Revolutionary Army (PRA), Lt. Colonel Thoiba Mangang, also attended the event.
During the event, tributes were paid to all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom movement of WESEA and Kangleipak/Manipur. The Chairman delivered a speech, urging the people to remember the sacrifices and stay committed to the cause.
The observance also honored farmers, workers, and the masses who contribute to the state’s progress, despite the challenges they face in improving the socio-economic conditions of the region.
SOREPA’s message to the people during the observance emphasized that the current situation in the land is at a critical juncture, requiring collective effort to bring about a lasting solution. The people were encouraged to be determined and united in achieving a significant and meaningful outcome. The event was concluded with the hope that SOREPA would play a key role in shaping the future and bringing about a resolution to the ongoing struggles.
