Imphal, Jan 20:

The Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak, has announced its boycott of India’s Republic Day, which falls on January 26. They have called for a total shutdown in Kangleiak from 4 am to 5 pm on that day.
In a statement, the armed rebel outfit expressed its support for any general strikes, total shutdowns, boycotts, etc., organized by any group in the WESEA and Kashmir regions. During the general strike, media houses, medical services, and religious activities will be exempted.
The outfit also stated that it is time for the people to discuss the Indian government’s policy of creating enmity among various communities in the WESEA region, in an attempt to sabotage the movement for a united WESEA land and to continue their colonial rule over the people of this area.
SORPA paid revolutionary tribute to all those who have sacrificed while fighting for the unity of the land and wished a speedy recovery to those who have been injured while protecting the land.
They also emphasized the importance of continuing the struggle to protect the people, recounting the history of the land.
