Imphal, Jan 24:

An armed rebel group currently ensuing Suspension of Operation with the government today claimed the firing at crowded place of Moreh yesterday afternoon killing a 45 years old person identified as Thangminlun Guite and injuring a 19 years old workshop mechanic. Interestingly the deceased Thangminlun Guite is also the DC Technical Head Quarter Moreh of the KNO, which is also another signatory of the Suspension of Operation (SoO).

The claim and counter claim by the UKLF and the KNO reveals that those armed rebel groups under SoO with the Government of India openly carry arms and ammunition in public places violating the ground rules of the Suspension of Operation.

In its statement the United Kuki Liberation Front openly claimed that, Thangminlun Guite was awarded capital Punishment for all his crime against UKLF.

The statement signed by T. James Joint Secretary UKLF, further stated that, On 13th Of July 2018, Thangminlun Guite along with Officer In charge of KNA/KNO Thenkhothang@ Thahpi had inhumanly attacked a Local Resident of Moreh Onkholet Haokip with sophisticated weapons along with Lethod Bombs.

The same Thangminlun Guite along with Thenkhothang had attacked UKLF location at Electricity Office, Moreh on 23rd October, 2018. On 13th July 2019, Thangminlun Guite brutally murdered a Lieutenant of UKLF the former Town Commander of Moreh John Gangte, it added.

The series of incident about the assassination of John Gangte a Lt. of United Kuki Liberation Front on  July 13, 2019 as claimed and Thangminlen Guite a DC of KNO/KNA  yesterday by the UKLF show that both Kuki National Organization/ Kuki National Army and United Kuki Liberation Front are operating at Moreh beyond their designated Camp by carrying weapons without following the Ground Rules to be followed after the signing of the Suspension of Operation (SoO).

The government is not circulating any comments in connection with the violation ground rules by UGs currently ensuing the Suspension of Operation.
