Six bombs exploded during R Day celebration in Imphal

As many as six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) have been exploded in Imphal during the Republic Day celebrations.
The first explosion took place at around 7 am in the morning near Khuyathong Pukhri Achouba under Imphal Police Station. It was followed by another explosion at around 8 am at the bank of Imphal River of New Lambulane Part. Two other bombs blasted at Minuthong and Yaiskul near Yaiskul Athletic Club.
The two other bombs were exploded at Wangjing Heituppokpi in Thoubal and Loukoipat junction at Bishnupur in Bishnupur district Paramilitary and police forces have been deployed in large numbers around the area.
Police sources said bomb experts of the police were checking various areas in the city for explosives that may have been planted by the militants.
It may be mentioned here that CorCom, conglomeration of six militant groups operating in Manipur have boycott the Republic Day Celebration in Imphal.
