While staging protest for released of the two abducted drivers, JAC formed against the abduction has threatened to launch intense form of agitation if the government fails to bring them safe home by August 24. Truck driver Gautam Gopal (28) son of Ram Kumar of Kanglatombi and his associate Namwang Newmen (23) son of Erangteung Newme of Teguaram Village, Tamenglong district were reportedly abducted by suspected cadres of NSCN-K from 7th Mile Zebra Parking area near Kohima in Nagaland at around 2.30 pm of August 13, when they were ferrying rice bags for the FCI godown Manipur. Representatives of the JAC who were staging the sit-in-protest at Kanglatombi Keithel said that the two driver might have been abducted due to misunderstanding between the contractor of the FCI identified as one Leishang and the NSCN-K. He appealed the contractor to let free the two drivers before August 24.
