Sit-in protest held against bomb attack in Brahmapur

Residents of Brahmapur Aribam Leikai in Imphal East staged a sit-in protest on Thursday condemning a bomb attack that occurred in the locality late Wednesday night.

According to reports, unidentified miscreants hurled two bombs at the residence of Phurailatpam Kennedy Sharma (49), son of Ph. Ibotombi Sharma, located at Lane No. 5, Khwairakpam Leirak, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai, at around midnight on June 10. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Condemning the attack, members of the Youths’ Club Brahmapur (YCB) and local Meira Paibi groups organised the protest at the club premises from 1 pm on Thursday.

The protesters expressed concern over the use of explosives in a densely populated residential area, stating that such acts pose a serious threat to public safety and security. They demanded that the authorities identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack at the earliest.
