SIPHRO refute claims on development by Government

IT News,

Imphal, July 15: Singlun Indigenous People Human Rights Organisation (SIPHRO) today refutes the claim made by three-times Chief Minister of Manipur O Ibobi during his budget estimates presentation for 2014-15 in the State Assembly on July 15, 2014 that the construction of Lungthulien (Manipur) to Vanbawng (Mizoram) road taken up under the Inter State Connectivity Scheme (ISCS) has been completed. A press statement issued jointly by David Buhril, Chairman, and Lalremlien Neitham, Secretary of SIPHRO categorically stated that people of Tipaimukh Hills are unaware of the existence of any such road and alleged that the statement by the CM is a concocted, baseless and an insulting one. The statement further disclosed that an independent investigation revealed that even the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the mentioned road project is yet to be prepared by the concern authorities, raising the question on the possibility of completing a project without DPR and also lamented the Government apathy towards Tipaimukh Hills region.
