A sinusitis patient who had undergone surgery reportedly vomited one and half feet long bandage after 5 days. The patient identified as Sadokpam Somorjit, aged about 42 years old had undergone surgery at Imphal Hospital on September 4, this year at Imphal Hospital by one doctor identified as Sudhir.
During a meeting with media persons at Manipur Press Club, the patient , Sadokpam Somorjit, son of S. Tondon of Kongba Uchekon in Imphal East said that he was admitted at the private run Imphal Hospital on September 3 after he had some respiratory problem. The doctor, Sudhir, who was consulted advice for an immediate surgery as he had sinusitis problem.
As advice, he had undergone the surgery on Sept 4, but the following day he vomited around half litre of blood.
“My family members had complaint about the matter to the nurses and later the doctor came but instead of diagnosing the matter he started blaming us on the ground of inciting mob culture to vandalise the hospital”, Somorjit said.
Later, he was discharged on September 6.
Somorjit further added that he went for medical check up on September 10. On the day he suffered a nonstop nose bleeding. As the consultant doctor, Sudhir was out of station the Imphal Hospital authority referred him to RIMS hospital. He said that he was hospitalized till September 14.
He further said that after he was discharged from RIMS hospital he vomited one and half feet long bandage.
The matter was complaint to the Imphal Hospital authority but he was told that the doctor might have forgotten to take out the bandage.
Sadokpam Somorjit appealed concerned authority to take action against the doctor which might cost his life.
