Bandh called on Sept 21 protesting merger of Manipur to Indian Union

An outfit called National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) has called Manipur Bandh on September 21 protesting the merger of Manipur to the Indian Union. A statement signed by one Sanajaoba Meitei, stated that it was on September 21, 1949 that the then Maharaja of Manipur was forced to sign the merger agreement with the Union of India under duress. It added that protesting the force annexation, the party called the day as total bandh.
