Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh organised a Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at the City Convention Hall today.
Former Minister Bijoy Koijam attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh president M. Tombi Singh presided over the function as the Functional President.
Former MNDF president Chingtham Priyokumar Singh, NPP senior vice-president Ph. Jillasana Sharma, Acting Chairman of the Manipur Human Rights Commission Kangjam Khagendra Singh, Minority Chairman of Imphal Market Manmeet Singh Arora and social activist Ashang Kasar attended the programme as Guests of Honour.
As part of the programme, traditional shawls were presented to elderly persons and elderly internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Speaking on the occasion, Bijoy Koijam appreciated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, stating that the programme was being organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service.
He said that Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh organising a blood donation camp and bringing together people from different communities amid the prevailing situation in Manipur was a significant achievement.
Koijam also stressed the need to restore peace and stability in Manipur and said efforts should be made to ensure that the State remains peaceful.
On the situation in Moreh, he stressed the need for people from different communities to live together peacefully and expressed the need to revive the trade corridor.
As part of the special seva initiative, a blood donation camp was also organised near the City Convention Hall from 10 am today.
