Shija Hospitals promotes Breast Cancer Awareness at IRE Group of Institutions

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt. Ltd., Langol, Imphal, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Thoubal and the Lions Club of Thoubal Greater Centurion, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at the IRE Group of Institutions, Wangjing, Thoubal.
The awareness session featured expert lectures by Dr. Ajit Lukram, Consultant Surgeon at the Shija Breast and Thyroid Clinic and Clinical Fellow (Breast and Endocrine, Colorectal Surgery) at North Cumbria University Hospital, United Kingdom, and Dr. Ksh. Manglem Singh, Retired Chief Medical Officer, Government of Manipur.
The speakers highlighted the rising incidence of breast cancer in the region and emphasized the importance of awareness, early detection, and timely medical consultation in improving survival outcomes.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 100 students, B.Ed. trainees, and faculty members. To facilitate better understanding, breast cancer awareness booklets in both Manipuri and English were distributed among attendees.
The initiative underscored Shija Hospitals’ ongoing commitment to preventive healthcare and community outreach, reaffirming that collaborative public health efforts are crucial in the fight against breast cancer.
