Dr. Ajit Lukram, Senior Consultant at Shija Breast & Thyroid Clinic of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, spearheaded a one-day breast cancer awareness program and complementary health camp today. This event, hosted at the Multipurpose Hall of Dhanamanjuri (D.M) University in Imphal, was organised in partnership with D.M. College of Science, Imphal.
Dr. Ajit Lukram delved deeply into the topic of breast cancer, addressing its frequency, recognizing its signs and symptoms, outlining available treatment options, and emphasising the significance of routine self-examinations and screenings, such as ultrasound scans and X-ray mammograms. Additionally, he engaged in a meaningful dialogue with attendees, comprising students from DM College of Science and Paramedical Science, as well as faculty from DM University.
The event saw an impressive turnout of over 300 attendees who not only benefited from the insightful counselling sessions but were also offered free health check-ups. Additionally, to encourage proactive health measures, discounted services, including blood tests and mammograms, were made available to the participants. At the forefront of these initiatives is the Shija Breast & Thyroid Clinic, which maintains an unwavering dedication to elevating awareness about breast cancer. Their mission is not just about disseminating information, but more so about fostering a community where individuals are equipped with knowledge and resources, enabling them to place their health and well-being at the pinnacle of their priorities.
