Sharmila continues fast-unto-death protest for repeal of AFSPA

Iron Lady Irom Chanu Sharmila, who is on her fast unto death protest demanding to repeal AFSPA, 1958 from Manipur since Nov, 2000 , continued her protest at Ima Market at the foot of the statue of Maharaj Bhagyachandra.
Sharmila has been discharged from the security ward of JNIMS Hospital on Thursday evening at 05. 45 pm after the prosecution failed to provide proper evidence of the case filed against Sharmila by Porompat Police, Imphal East under section 309 of attempt to commit suicide and 353 of obstruction on police duty.
After her release from the security ward of JNIMS Hospital at around 7.30 pm Sharmila went to Khwairamband Ima Market and resumed her fast unto death protest demanding to repeal AFSPA from Manipur. On the other hand, a large no of police personnel have been deployed at the place where Sharmila is fasting.
