Security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises in the vulnerable hill and valley districts of Manipur, leading to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition. The operation was carried out in the fringe areas to curb illegal activities and maintain law and order.
During a search operation at T. Khullen village under New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District, security personnel recovered a cache of weapons, including one HK automatic rifle with a magazine, three country-made pull mechanism rifles, one single-barrel bolt action rifle, one .32 pistol with a magazine, one .22 pistol with a magazine, one mortar (Pumpi), and five mortar bombs. Additionally, a Kenwood Motorola handset, three rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and four rounds of 9 mm sniper ammunition were also seized.
Meanwhile, security forces intensified area domination in other vulnerable regions, ensuring the safe movement of essential goods along National Highways 2 and 37. A total of 252 and 218 vehicles carrying essential supplies were escorted along NH-2 and NH-37, respectively. Strict security measures have been implemented at sensitive locations, with security convoys deployed to safeguard the movement of vehicles.
To enhance vigilance, 113 checkpoints (Nakas) have been set up across various districts in both hill and valley areas. However, no individuals were detained during the operations for any violations. Security forces continue to maintain heightened surveillance to prevent any unlawful activities and ensure stability in the region.
