SF conduct Op Sunrise II in Wainem area of Kangpokpi

As part of Operation Sunrise II, a joint operation was carried out by Special Forces and Assam Rifles in the Wainem area of Kangpokpi district today.
According to official information, the operation was launched in the General Area Wainem with the objective of area domination and maintaining security in the region. During the operation, Special Forces troops were inducted through helicopter insertion and carried out slithering operations before conducting coordinated area domination exercises along with personnel of the Assam Rifles.
The Special Forces and Assam Rifles teams linked up at around 9 am, following which joint movement and domination of the operational area were undertaken. The operation continued for several hours and was called off at around 12 noon after completion of the assigned tasks.
Wainem village falls under the jurisdiction of Nungba Khullen Police Station in Kangpokpi district. No untoward incident was reported during the course of the operation, officials said.
Operation Sunrise II is part of ongoing coordinated security efforts aimed at preventing the movement of armed groups, restoring a sense of security among the local population, and ensuring stability in sensitive areas of the state.
