SF claims arrest of CorCom Finance Secy

Imphal, Aug 27: Security Force today claims arrest of a king pin leader of the CorCom- the joint body various rebel group of the region at wee hour today. A source from the SF said that a joint team of 6 AR under the command of Maj Ankur Rana and 42 AR along with a team of Bishnupur Police Commandos launched combing operation at Tronglaobi area after getting specific input about the presence of Mairembam Achouba (78) @ Achou Meitei, which they said is the Finance and Foreign secretary of the joint body. The source said that he was arrested from a house belonging to one Laishram Sarat Singh, of Gelmon, Tronglaobi at 1330 hrs today. The source further said that Mairembam Achouba is from Moirang Thana leikai and is serving the rebel group at the rank of Brigadier and his army No. is 12. It further added that Mairembam Achouba joined Meitie State Army (MSA)in the year 1957.He joined KCP in the yr 1991 and was one of the founding members of the outfit. The source said that he later joined CorCom and was working as Foreigner & Fin Secy of CorCom . The source said that Mairembam Achouba had gone to Thailand, Myanmar and China for talks to coordinate activities of CorCom cadres
