Imphal, Feb 20:
Combined team of Bishnupur District Police and central security forces conducted a cordon and search operation at Moirang Kiyam Leikai under Moirang Police Station. According to police source the combined security team arrested 13 suspected cadres of the proscribed KYKL.
Those arrested were handed over to to Imphal Police Station for further investigation. Authorities have yet to disclose details regarding potential recoveries made during the operation.
Among those arrested were Rohit @ Chingsangpa Singh (26) from Thamnapokpi Makha Leikai, Kongkham Hemlet @ Thoungamba Singh (27) from Sugnu Mamang Leikai, Leishangthem Amarjit @ Nongpok Nganba Singh (26) from Ningthoukhong Ward No. 2, and Khwairakpam Bikram @ Rex Singh (42) from Nachou Ward No. 5. Also taken into custody were Soiban Deepak Singh (33) from Yurembam Maning Leikai, Laishram Indrakumar @ Boi Meitei (42) from Etham Maning Leikai, and Konthoujam Swarmajit @ Thoujan Singh (36) from Lamphel Khunou.
Further arrests included Heisnam Premananda @ Rocky Meitei (33) from Thanga Khunjem Leikai, Khundongbam Nimai Singh (28) from Heirok, Naorem Amarjit @ Thanil Singh (28) from Sugnu Awang Leikai, and Abujam Ringku @ Thawairakpa Meitei (28) from Sugnu Makha Leikai. The operation also led to the capture of Moirangthem Inao @ Robin Singh (44) from Moirangkhunou Khonangkhong and Haosungbam Ibomcha @ Athoi @ Pammel Meitei (18) from Lousangkhong Mayai Leikai.
