Senapati students to launch economic blockade over mobile internet ban

Naga Students’ Union Chandel (NSUC) has strongly condemned the government of Manipur over the ban on data internet service to all the districts of Manipur including districts that are not affected by the ongoing crisis. The Senapati District Students’ Union on the other hand has called an economic blockade on National Highways against the ban on mobile internet service from 6 pm today evening.
“The mobile internet ban on districts of Manipur which are not affected by the ongoing conflict in Manipur is not justified as it shattered the rights of various common people and the students”, a statement of the Students’ union said. It said that in districts like Senapati, not many people can afford the Broadband service due to the geographical locations.
The students’ union of Senapati and Chandel has appealed to the government to lift the ban on mobile internet service to Senapati district, Chandel district, and others that are not affected by the ongoing conflict.
