Senapati police introduces remote monitoring unit for safer highways

The Senapati District Police has introduced a Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) at the SP Office to enhance law and order and improve safety on the highways.
Police officials informed that the RMU has been connected to 12 CCTV cameras installed at important locations under Mao, TBI, Maram, and Senapati Police Stations. Through this system, officers would be able to watch real-time movements on the highways, detect suspicious activities, regulate traffic flow, and respond more swiftly in case of accidents or emergencies.
The district police mentioned that the step was part of their effort to adopt technology-driven methods of policing. They believed that continuous surveillance would not only improve highway safety but also build confidence among commuters and transporters. Officials further observed that the initiative was expected to reduce highway crime, improve response time, and ensure smoother travel for the public.
