One day seminar on ‘patriotic writings in the 50 years of Manipuri literature (1964-2014)’ was organised today by Patriotic Writer’s Forum (PAWF) Manipur at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
Speaking during the seminar, Secretary PAWF, Rakesh Naorem said that PAWF has been contributing for the welfare of Manipuri literature such as book release, book discussion, translation, research about old writers, seminar, symposium and distributing awards and recognition to encourage writers of the state. Rakesh further added that the aim of conducting the seminar is that many writers with patriotic feelings came out during the years of 1964 – 2014 and to discuss their distribution towards the development of the society through their patriotic writings. Literature is mirror of the society and to remember those writers who had marked a history in the Manipuri literature is very important for the welfare of the future generation, added Rakesh.
Attending the function as resource persons, Dr. Koijam Shantibala spoke on the topic of ‘patriotic writings in the 50 years of Manipuri Drama,’ Dr. Maya Nepram spoke on the topic of ‘patriotic writings in the 50 years of Manipuri short stories’ and Professor Elangbam Dinamani attended the function as Moderator of the first session of the seminar. Sahitya Academy Awardeem Khumanthem Prakash was the moderator of the second session of the seminar. Dr. Moirangthem Priyobratta spoke on the topic of ‘patriotic writings in the 50 years of Manipur poem’ and B. Jayentakumar Sharma, Lyricist spoke on the topic of ‘patriotic writings in the 50 years of Manipuri modern song’ as resource persons.
