Seminar on cooperative movement held

A One-day state level seminar on ‘cooperative movement can bring about unity and national integrity’ was organized by the Manipur State Cooperative Union under the sponsorship of National Cooperative Union of India, New Delhi at Gandhi Memorial Hall here today.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, K Moses Chalai (IAS), Principal Secretary, Government of Manipur said that Manipur seems to lack cooperative movement as comparing to other states of the country like Maharashtra. The state needs to strengthen cooperative movement and can only be improved only when the movement is based in economic reason.
Speaking on the occasion as a Guest of Honour, Th Manao Singh, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Department said that India being a diverse country inhabited by different castes of different religion ‘secularism’ is respected.
