Laishrain Harendra Singh, Assistant Commandant, 6th IRB Pangei (Supervisor 112 ERSS, Manipur) who is presently undergoing treatment at the Rehabilitation center at RIMS has told that his life was ruined by a self style Chiropractor identified as Sunder Mangang from Warok Sabal of Lamshang in Imphal West.
Talking to media Harendra said that his life has been ruined but will not allow it happens to any persons. A complaint has been lodged to the Lamshang Police station and as per the report and FIR has been filed for cheating, causing grievous hurt and inducing person of believing to be rendered an object of divine pleasure, which is punishable under section 325, 420 and 508 of the Indian Penal Code.
As per the FIR report it is stated that Laishram Harendra Singh Assistant Commandant 6th IRB Pangei (Supervisor 112 ERSS, Manipur) started sensing some niggling pain between his groin and upper thigh since last year. Though he have consulted some physicians and was also undergoing treatment, the said niggling pain refused to go away altogether making an irritable feature in his body. During this time, he came across some videos uploaded by Sunder Mangang in Social Media i.e Facebook, Youtube etc. where Sunder Mangang claimed himself to be a Chiropractor and where he further claimed, he can cured any kind of pain and ailments in the human body by his Chiro Practicing treatment. Mislead by Sunder Mangang claimed, sometime in the month of February, 2022, he happen to visit the said Sunder Mangang house in Warok Sabal, Lamshang, Imphal West. Sunder Mangang enquired to what his problem was and to which he initially informed Sunder Mangang that he merely come to discuss his problem and take any advice after which he will only go for treatment, if so convinced. However, the said Sunder Mangang started mocking him by saying that he don’t have to be afraid and think over the matter and that Sunder Mangang can straight away cure his niggling pain. He objected to Sunder Mangang opinion by telling that he would like to convince first before going through any treatment as offer by Sunder Mangang. Once again, Sunder Mangang made a mockery in front of other patients by saying that he is a coward and should not be in the Police Service. Thereafter, Sunder Mangang kind of jump upon him by putting legs upon his back while making Sunder Mangang younger brother hold his hands in a locking manner from behind his back and also tied with his hands loin cloth (Khudei). While he was protesting that no hard and harsh force be used, the said Sunder Mangang simply jump and press Sunder Mangang leg on his back while forcefully bending his back in a forcefully and harass manner, giving him an acute and stinging pain, which was totally unbearable to him. As he was protested that the pain was too muc Sunder Mangang laughed it off by saying that it will go away within 2-3 days and he will be to cured of his earlier niggling pain.
However, when the acute pain caused by the forceful exertion of Sunder Mangang on his back did not stop even after 10-15 days, he informed Sunder Mangang about his condition but Sunder Mangang started avoiding him by refusing to pick up his phone calls as well as giving him no appointment. In the meantime, having no alternative, he went for treatment to RIMS where he was treated in the department of Orthopedics starting from the month of April, 2022 still today.
As advice, he took MRI in the department of Radio Diagnosis, RIMS and it was found that his spinal disc at L3 and L4 was defused and at the same time the posterior disc at L4 and L5 were bulge causing severe bilateral neural foraminal narrowing. In other word, because of the forceful and harsh pressed made by the aforementioned Sunder Mangang, his spinal disc as mentioned above were affected giving him not only continuous and acute pain but also making him very weak to the extent that he cannot longer walk for 50 metre at one go. It has become very difficult for him to do any kind of simple physical activities such as standing for some period of time, carrying a bucket of water or even sitting in the toilet for passing stool. In the nutshell, he had been rendered totally with and his whole body seems to be damaged and also further deteriorating day by day. As mentioned above, he had tried to contact the aforesaid Sunder Mangang but now Sunder Mangang has totally avoided all together except making him one threat to him.
On some query made from others, it has transpired that the aforesaid Sunder Mangang do not possess any trained qualification to be Chiropractor and Sunder Mangang claim are all false and fabricated. In other words, Sunder Mangang is a fraud claiming to be a Chiropractor without any kind of proper training thereby endangering the life and limbs of others as done to him. Sunder Mangang has caused grievous hurt to him by Sunder Mangang forceful exertion of force which was also against his will. Lastly. when he had contacted for further enquiry Sunder Mangang threaten him not to create any more scene or enquiry as otherwise lie will have to face harsh repercussion from Sunder Mangang side.
In this regard the police conducted an enquiry into the matter, examined the complainant wherein it came to know that the complainant visited the residence of Konsam Sunder Singh (40) S/o K. Shamu Singh of Yurembam Makha Leikai A/P Warok Sabal, Lamsang for treatment in the month of February 2022 for his body niggling pain which he came across from some Videos on Social Media upload by namely Konsam Sunder Singh curing pains and as Chiropractor. After some days back the complainant was not good in wealth so he went to RIMS Hospital in the month of April 2022 for further treatment and found that his Spinal Disc L3 and L4 was defused and the posterior disc at L4 and L5 were bulge causing severe bilateral neural foraminal narrowing. On further enquiry contacted the alleged person namely Konsam Sunder Singh (40) in which he also stated of the visit by the complainant namely Laishram Harendra Singh at his residence for treatment during the month of February 2022. Further he produced one Certificate of Diploma in Acupressure and Magneto Therapist in his name which was issued by Dr. Opendro Laishram (Course Cum Managing Director) of The Sangai Health Care System and the same was verified and came out be genuine.
The police have recommended a full investigation into the matter as of now.
