The security guards of Prof S. Sekharjit who were withdrawn have been restored. S. Manglemjao, IGP has written a letter to Prof Sekharjit informing him that the guards will be deployed in the office and residence.The interim high court ruling is that Prof Sekharjit is still the director and that he was merely relieved. As such withdrawal of the facilities entitled to the director was uncalled for and will border on contempt of court.As informed from the family of Dr. Sekhajit, the security guards had been withdrawn without even informing him. But in view of threats from some circles Prof Sekharjit was given Z-plus security coverage. Important officials in Delhi were not amused since it was a question of the personal security of the head of the institute.
