Security Forces apprehend Pambei led UNLF worker

Imphal, Jan 5:

Assam Rifles and Manipur Police successfully apprehended a suspected worker of Pambei led United National Liberation Front at the Hatta Golapati area of Imphal East district.
In a press release issued by Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) yesterday, it stated “Acting on specific intelligence input, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police successfully apprehended an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of the United National Liberation Front (Pambei). The operation, which took place in the General Area Hatta Golapati of Imphal East district, resulted in the recovery of a four-wheeler that had been forcefully snatched from its owner.”
The apprehended individual is suspected of involvement in extortion, vehicle hijacking, and intimidation activities in and around Imphal. Acting swiftly on intelligence reports indicating the presence of armed OGWs in the area, the joint team launched a targeted operation, resulting in the suspect’s arrest in the Khomidok area of Keirang, Imphal East.
The operation, based on specific intelligence inputs, also led to the recovery of a stolen four-wheeler. The suspect has been taken into custody by Imphal East Police for further investigation.
