Security forces apprehended two cadres belonging to United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) from different places.
A press release signed by S. Gautam Singh, PRO, Police Department, Manipur said that the cadre of UNLF identified s/s Sergeant Major, Irom Rakesh Singh @ Thabungtomba @ Apabi (35) s/o (L) I. Tomba Singh of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi Thokchom Leikai a/p Tera Sadokpam Leikai was arrested during a search operation of Imphal West District Police Commando at Tera Sadokpam Leikai area on the 19th of January, 2015.
Incriminating articles were seized from his possession. A case has been registered at Lamphel Police Station and investigation is going on.
In another incident, a combined team of Thoubal District Police Commando and 22 Assam Rifles arrested a cadre of KYKL during search operation in and around Wabagai area on 20th Jan 2015. The apprehended cadre of KYKL has been identified as one Nameirakpam Devananda Meitei (43) s/o N. Bijoy Singh of Wabagai Kadajit Maning Leikai of Wabagai Kadajit Maning Leikai. Investigation revealed that he was involved in the recruitment of new cadres of KYKL organisation.
A case has been registered at Kakching Police Station and investigation is going on.
