The Second Foundation Day of Dr. Pratita Charitable Hospital & Research Institute was held today at the hospital campus in Khongjom, Thoubal district.
As part of the celebration, the Dr. Pratita Memorial Award-2025 was conferred on three hospital staff members for their outstanding service. Jina Ningombam, Laboratory Technician, received the Excellence in Service award, Yaiphabi Shagolsem, Staff Nurse, was named Employee of the Year, and Naorem Nepoleon, Manager, received the Chairman’s Award for Service. In addition, five students from the Wangjing Tentha Assembly constituency who secured positions in the COHSEM Examination were honoured with the Dr. Pratita Meritorious Award-2025.
Dr. Monica Moirangthem, Managing Director of the hospital, recalled that her mother, Dr. Pratita, passed away in a road accident on January 10, 2021, while serving as a professor at RIMS. In her memory, the Dr. Pratita Charitable Trust was established, and the hospital commenced operations on September 29, 2023, coinciding with her birthday.
Dr. Monica Moirangthem further stated that the hospital has completed two years of service, providing OPD, diagnostic facilities, physiotherapy, pharmacy services, and Jan Aushadi to the public. To date, the hospital has organized 16 free medical camps, including relief camps, to serve communities in need.
Moirangthem Hemanta, former minister and Chairman of the hospital, highlighted that the hospital aims to provide accessible healthcare to villagers. He emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups, recommending them every six months to a year.
