At a time when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government has been issuing strict notification for punctuality to the government employees across the country, several villagers under the jurisdiction of Kumbi SDC has to wait for over months to get a signature of the SDC for registration of the land patta.
Imphal Times, reporters, when visited to inquire about the matter found the SDC absent in the office yesterday. Many villagers who were waiting at the office to get a signature of the officers expressed dissatisfaction to the nature of functioning the government office. Some said they had been coming to the office time and again for over ten days for getting signature of the SDC for registration of lands, but they never met him.
A staff of the SDC office said that the SDC, identified as H. Haridas, hails from Kaching Wairi Leikai and as the distance between Kakching Wairi and Kumbi is very far he use to come late and have to return late and as a result he use to attend office once in a blue moon.
Thokchom Ongbi Bilashini Devi, who was found waiting for the SDC while interacting to Imphal Times reporter said that it is very unfortunate for the people of Kumbi to have a officers who never attended office regularly. She said villagers in needs have to waste time and money to come and go to the office for getting his signature spending around a month as he attend office only once or twice a month. She wanders how his attendance record is being maintained as she hardly found him in the office at most time she visited the office. She appealed the local MLA to look into the matter and urged him to replace the SDC who will be able to attend office on regular basis.
