Eleven Amur falcons were released today at Chiuluan Village. These Amur Falcon were captured by a team of Tamenglong Forest Division and local volunteers under the guidance of Dr Suresh Kumar, Scientist F, WII, Dehradun yesterday from Chiuluan roosting site. The Research program is taken up under the aegis of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
Two Amur Falcon were given the names as Chiuluan2 and Guangram with the approval of Shri Anurag Bajpai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, Manipur and tagged with satellite transmitters. Chiuluan2 and Guangram are name of two important roosting villages of Amur falcon in Tamenglong District, Manipur.
These tagged Amur Falcon were released by the Divisional Forest Officer Tamenglong Shri Kh. Hitler Singh in the presence of Dr. Suresh Kumar, Joel Gangmei RFO Tamenglong, Chairman, Village Authority members of Chiuluan Village, Rainforest Club Tamenglong members and staff of Tamenglong Forest Division.
Besides the two satellite transmitters tagged Amur falcon, two Amur falcon named as Riangsuanei and Laisana ringed with [email protected] were also released. All the remaining seven Amur Falcon were also released. All the Amur Falcon were also ringed with BNHS ring from C58352 to C58362.
